If you load up a flat in APP does it look completely green? If so when you tick the 'neutralise-BG' box at the top right of the main screen does most of the green disappear? If so, this is perfectly normal behaviour and your green cast is simply because that check box, which controls what is shown in the preview window (and exported), was not ticked for some reason.

]]> Skye Goodrich https://www.astropixelprocessor.com/community/rfcs-request-for-changes/allow-specific-values-for-rgb-multipliers-not-just-sliders-on-0-color-settings-and-saving-presets/#post-34093 RE: All of my color shots using ZWO ASI585MC Pro have a Green cast https://www.astropixelprocessor.com/community/main-forum/all-of-my-color-shots-using-zwo-asi585mc-pro-have-a-green-cast/#post-34092 Sat, 28 Mar 2026 17:15:35 +0000 I was finally able to make some progress on this by applying custom color levels from GIMP (by taking output of APP after integration) for this specific camera in GIMP, or R=1, G=.94, and B=1.1, I calculated these via using some basic algebra and looking at the provided color QE charts on Zwo Astro.  Using Red as a base (=1.0), i calculated the levels of adjustments needed by looking at the graphs provided, where G = 90%, R=85%, and B= 77% on the graphs.   So solving for this, the adjustments needed (to leave R=1) were G=1/90 = x/85, x=.94, and B=1/77= x/85, x =1.1, then I used these values in the White Balance adjustment for Gimp.  These might work for APP too, I'll have to try it.

If I do a simple RGB combine for stars I get an even more bizarre outcome than you when I run the star colour calibration tool (see image below). If I perform the RGB star combination in Pixinsight then run the star colour tool in APP then I see normal behaviour so the issue is definitely with RGB combine not the star colour tool.

 

I can't use the RGB tool for creating narrowband palette combinations any more either as documented in a previous post which was not resolved (https://www.astropixelprocessor.com/community/main-forum/excessive-auto-stretch-in-rgb-combine/#post-33349). I now have to do all my narrowband colour combinations in Set Astro Suite.

APP remembers your settings usually and so if you were playing around and forgot to put things back to the way they were, you will have problems you didn't see before. Best thing to do is reset APP to default and start over - I'm pretty sure "neutralize background" is on by default.

EDIT: use the license and settings button on the top left of APP window to reset the settings.

been using APP with Nikon and ASI Zwo mono for a while, trying out a Sony a7rV

one subs looks like this after lightpollution:

but doing a normal stack as usual, I kepp getting strange pattern when applying LP substraction:

any idea why? One subs is 30s, the stack 1 hour total

 

 

 

does APP apply LP too strong? Even if so these paatern should not appear. IN the single subs there is nothing

Loaded 54 FITS of M64 and used the normal settings I've used all along. Master calibrations files all assign themselves etc but when it come to integration there is suddenly nothing. So have tried a trial with other data files I have that have worked before - nothing. APP reports Integration 1 has ISO/gain of 0.000 and the screen is just black.
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated as this has me totally baffled. Thanks.
